Santa Rosa Middle School is located at the corner of Highway 54 and Camino de Vida in sunny Santa Rosa, New Mexico.
The Santa Rosa Middle School teaching staff currently consists of five full time teachers and three itinerate teachers who also teach courses at SRHS and SRES. Additional staff includes an instructional assistant, a school librarian, two cooks and two custodians. At SRMS we strive to create an enhanced collaborative learning culture. The curriculum is aligned to Common Core, as well as the New Mexico State Standards and Benchmarks and is designed to provide students with the necessary tools to continue with their secondary education to provide a solid base for lifelong learning. Band, Computer Applications, as well as FFA for our 8th grade are offered as electives to the required curriculum. Spanish instruction is also provided at all three grade levels and is part of the Heritage Bilingual education program. Differentiated instruction and assessments aligned to instruction are a key element of the . Our students have the opportunity to participate in Student Council, MESA and Yearbook organizations. We are also proud to have a National Junior Honor Society chapter at our school.
The facility, which was completed in 2005, provides students with ample space, modern lighting, and climate for learning. Currently there are two computer labs and a diverse library which are used to support student learning. The gym facilities provide space for the Physical Education program, organized sports, and recreation.
Parents, guardians, and the community are all welcome to stop in for a visit or to check on student progress. We encourage all parents and grandparents to join our Parent Advisory Group. It is our goal and expectation that Santa Rosa Middle School provides the students of Santa Rosa with the best and most positive educational experience during their middle school years. Although our students are with us for only three short years (6th - 8th grade), these years require extra support and guidance as our students mature and transition to high school.
